Note: LG 18650 cells are not authorized or intended to be used as stand-alone, removable, rechargeable power sources for e-cigarette or vaping devices, or to be handled directly by consumers in any manner. Clients who inquire about LG loose cells must intend to manufacture battery packs with proper outer casing, PCM/BMS and protection functions and be able to provide documents to prove this.
The LG HG2 has many good qualities and is one of the best cells of 2015. The LG HG2 boasts a 20A max. discharge rating which is very good and adequate for most high-current applications. This, coupled with a high 3000 mAh capacity really allows this cell to hit a home run. As production increases during summer 2015 expect to see a lot more HG2 batteries hitting the market.
*Update 2018: While this cell is still popular in battery packs, a popular alternative is the Sony VTC6 which sees better availability in Mainland China.

In Asia, 18650 batteries are binned by quality into A, B, and lower bins. C-bin batteries are often recycled from battery packs. Lower bin batteries will underperform and may be dangerous.
We will only provide A Grade cells, unless specifically required to otherwise, for example, some clients may prefer Grade B Chinese cells for low-cost ESS projects. We can also confirm batch-date code, run testing (like impedance/voltage/capacity), and handle other IQC requirements.
